Who's New to the Rescue?

Vinnie & Pearl the Pygmy Goats

Meet Vinnie and Pearl, our new pygmy goats! These sweet goats came all the way from Kentucky, where they were deeply loved on a family farm. When their owner sadly passed away, his daughter stepped in to save them from being sent to a meat farm and drove them here to start a new life. We’re so grateful she chose our rescue as their forever home.

Vinnie is gentle and affectionate, already giving kisses and keeping a watchful eye on Pearl. Pearl is spunky and full of personality, happily tossing straw with her horns and making sure Vinnie knows who’s boss. They’re settling in beautifully and have already made friends with the other goats, emus, and deer.

Fabulous & Feathered

Gilligan the Peacock

Meet Gilligan, our gorgeous white peacock! He came to us from southern Illinois and joined us as a partner for Skipper. Gilligan's snowy white plumage isn't due to albinism, but a condition called leucism. It's a genetic trait that prevents pigment in his feathers, but still enables him to keep his dark eyes. Stay tuned for more adventures with Skipper and Gilligan!

Favorite Things

Gilligan loves the good life at the rescue — especially when there are grapes to nibble, Skipper to follow, and his best friend Pauly the turkey by his side.

A Tail to Impress

Gilligan uses his beautiful tail feathers and meow-like squawks to impress Skipper.

Say Cheese!

Cheese the Duck joined our rescue from a loving family who wanted him to have companionship after the loss of his longtime partner, Quackers. Here, Cheese has found a new flock and fast friends in our two Pekin ducks, Fiona and Luke. He spends his days paddling, chatting, and soaking up the sunshine, living his best life surrounded by feathered friends.

Birds of a Feather

We're thrilled to welcome Amelia, Stevie, Lisa, Meg, and Julie - five beautiful ducks from three different breeds. They joined us from a caring family who could no longer keep them safe from nearby hawks. With French Rouen, English Khaki Campbell, and Welsh Harlequin roots, this diverse group reminds us that no matter where they come from, ducks thrive with love, safety, and plenty of quacks!
